The Pricing and Commercial Insights team is responsible for:
Setting and constantly revising optimal Personal Loan acquisition APRs across all channel and all brands to meet business objectives by making informed judgements taking into consideration historical learning's, current and expected future context, lending and risk appetite and the competitive environment.
Proactively developing deep and granular customer and profitability insight (on the front book and back book) and passing on insight to the appropriate function within Loans for further development and action.
Developing and implementing a retention strategy and retention tactics including back book pricing.
Developing and refreshing all Loans pricing models (front book and back book)
Supporting the management information requirements of the Sales, Pricing and Commercial teams within the Personal Loans business.
Shaping and delivering ad hoc data requests to support the entire Loans business.
Job Purpose
To design, manage and execute financial and customer analysis that generates powerful insights. To be intellectually curious, proactively develop hypotheses and identify opportunities to drive profits and increase customer benefit, to support the Personal Loans vision.
Key Accountabilities
Develop and agree the commercial analysis agenda for the Loans Business. Self-generating potential avenues of commercial investigation, prioritising insight generation to business need and managing their delivery through to senior executive buy-in.
Shape and execute financial and customer analysis to answer commercial questions put to them by the business (e.g., Why is average loan size lower in the north region lower than all others? How successful was the recent DM campaign?). This will often require mixing several internal and external data sources and making grounded assumptions to get to a point of view.
Making sure there is always a "so what" from their analysis - something that can be used by the business to improve profitability or improve customer benefit.
Keep on top of industry trends to help drive hypotheses.
Able to juggle multiple tasks and proactively overcome potential roadblocks to delivery. Coaches and steers the junior analysts, ensuring their work is on track and delivering against the business vision. Overall, be a team player - proactively share insights and learning's and seek out opportunities to support other team members.
Clearly recommend and provide concise and consistent messaging of findings, both verbally and written, to enable the right decisions to be made.
Proactively engage and build relationships with key stakeholders in both Personal Loans and the wider Consumer Banking business. Takes care to understand the impact of recommendations on each part of the business.
