The Role
- To manage the provision of a first class retail and wholesale finance service primarily to construction/agricultural dealers and direct as well as to potential new customers within a specified geographical area, in order to maximise the levels of profitable business to the finance/leasing company
- The role involves active account management of dealers in the provision of retail finance to their customers.
- This position will home-based within the sales territory and involves extensive travel around the territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve budgeted volume and profit figures for designated area by maximising all sales opportunities
- Negotiate and sign up Retail Finance Deals as necessary.
- Underwrite Retail Finance deals within the Company Underwriting Mandate. Prepare professional and accurate proposals for the Credit Department for any deals outside the Area Manager Mandate.
- Identify all dealer sales staff training needs in the use of “Retail Finance” on every sale, taking remedial action as required to ensure budgeted levels of dealer signed business are achieved.
- Liaise with other area staff, each dealer principal and the regional manager on a regular basis to ensure maximum benefit of resources and review performance
- Regularly report on competitor's activities within each dealership.
- Maintain regular weekly contact with designated Sales Support Coordinator and ensure all sales staff within the area are aware of; and fully utilise this function.
The Candidate
- At least 3 years sales and marketing experience, preferably face-to-face and preferably within the Construction/ Agricultural or Banking/ Finance Industry.
- Ability to work unsupervised in a productive and disciplined manner. Ability to prioritise, plan and manage time effectively
- Ability to use system to electronically submit new business proposals, enquiries and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate, empathise and influence effectively and present a professional image
- Control own cost and expenditure to within acceptable levels.
- Comfortable working with complex transactions.
- A results driven, intuitive and experienced agricultural professional who is a team player who nevertheless has no problems being accountable for himself and his team and has a wealth of sales experience.
